One train ahead. How do more with less?

The SNCF envisions quadrupling traffic on the TER over the next 20 years. By investing in smart technology they plan to be able to carry four times as many people without creating four times more infrastructure. TERs will be equiped with the Internet creating a mobile commuting office - making commuting via car not only a waste for the environment but, a waste of valuable time. Jean-Pierre Farandou, General Directeur of SNCF Proximités stated, "We can offer more mobility with less environmental impact...a lot of mobility! The ability to be several places at once. The ability to be recognized. The ability to do everything at any place at any time."
